Customer Rating: Summary: Great to monitor the chicken coop, the root cellar, & outside temps Comment: I love this weather station and look at it several times a day. Of course, I live in Vermont where the winter weather will make you take notice even without this additional technological input. I bought this model to get the max-min function and the humidity monitor. I have one probe in my chicken coop and one probe on my porch. So I can tell if the chickens are getting too chilly, monitor how well my coop insulation is performing vs. outside temperatures, and also check humidity in the coop (high humidity with cold temps is a recipe for chicken-comb frostbite). Next, I am going to get an additional probe so I can monitor temperature and humidity in my soon-to-be-constructed root cellar.
I rate it 4 stars instead of five because of design of the interface. The way the labels read on the station is very strange; sometimes you have to read across the thermometer, and other times not. Also, the thermometer gives an unhappy face to the indoor weather conditions in my house. It doesn't think my house is warm enough for human comfort. Well, 63 degrees is warm enough for some of us, thank you very much. I don't need a thermometer telling me whether it's happy. This thermometer clearly need to put on a sweater, or kick in towards the oil bill. :-) Seriously, the information that it is 63 F is all I want from my thermometer. Also, it would be nice if when the temperature is cold, and the pressure is low, to have the cloud putting out snow flakes instead of rain. That would make ME smile.
Customer Rating: Summary: Dependable Comment: I have used this station for about a month now. It has worked perfectly since I received it. I would suggest getting stand alone instruments for wind and rain measurements and a station like this for basic conditions.
Customer Rating: Summary: Decent product Comment: The price wasn't bad since it was 75%+ off MSRP. The install wasn't bad either.
I had trouble to get every sensor to work but that's probably because i did not spent enought ime setting it up.
It gives me outside temperature and that's all i need
Decent product;)
Customer Rating: Summary: Too Large Comment: We were looking for a reliable weather station and picked this because of the price. Purchased on sale for less than $20 this was worth the money. I would not pay the original price for this. It is plastic and VERY LARGE. It has it's place in the back entry way but would not be decorative in view of your guests.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wall hogging weather station! Comment: This Weather monitor could be one quarter the size. It seems to record fairly accurately and the atomic functions well. The battery in the outdoor sensor runs down fast but still transmits 60 feet and through walls ok.
