If you love the look of glass storage sets or simply tire of disposable storage like plastic and foil, Bormioli offers this sturdy Square Glass Storage Set. Three thick glass containers will keep food fresh and odor-free, plus contents are easily viewable. Even use them as serving pieces. Set includes tight fitting plastic lids, which makes them portable, too. Without lids on, they nest inside each other when not in use to save space. Microwave safe. Do not use in conventional oven or on the stove.

Comment: Bormioli Rocco Frigoverre Round 4 Piece Storage Set with Frosted Lids
These storage containers are attractive and glass is the current recommendation for use in a microwave, which is why I purchased them. A major drawback is that the lids are NOT microwavable. I would not have purchased them had I been aware of that fact. Unfortunately, you have to read the fine print to discover this particular inconvenience. They are heavy to carry to work for lunch and you have to push the center of the lid down carefully and firmly or the contents will spill.

Summary: Love these bowls - second set in 25+ yrs
Comment: Purchased my first set of these about 25 years ago. Finally the last one broke when I dropped it on my foot (owww). So glad to replace them. Sturdy and safe food storage. Clear, clean, no surfaces to absorb odors or emit chemicals. But heed the instructions - don't microwave the lids. I didn't,but I've done it to other plastic lids before, with very bad results.

Comment: Like the bowls BUT the largest bowl lid does not fit tight. And all the lids have deep grooves around the edges (inside and outside edges) that hold water.

Comment: If you are looking for something to replace your plastic containers - this is a great option. Mine came very quickly and the quality of the product is excellent. This set is well designed and they can sit within each other to take up very little space. The pictures don't show it but all three are resonably sized - I am happy with my purchase and unlike the other review amazon packed mine very well.

Summary: Would have been great but . . .
Comment: Amazon did a lousy job packing these for shipment. The three dishes were nestled inside each other with absolutely NO cushioning inbetween -- no paper, no bubble wrap, nothing . . . hence the middle dish was smashed to smithereens. I don't have the time or money to be mailing broken glass back to them (nor do I think it is fair or safe to the post office or Amazon personnel who would have to deal with the shards).
This is not the first time I've gotten poorly packed, broken merchandise from Amazon, but I can guarantee you it is going to be the last. I'm sticking to purchasing just books from now on. Hard to break those.
