Summary: SuSE is Great!
Comment: I recently made the switch ove5r to Linux, and I have to say, after trying other distributions I have fallen in love w/ SuSE !! Very comfortable operating system once you get by the wind0ze stigmatism! It gives you you're office, multimedia, and graphics packages as well as games for those who enjoy gaming. I highly recommend it, just have patience and you'll be amazed at what Linux (GNU) has to offer!!

Summary: Very good but frustrating at first.
Comment: This is a very complete operating system with a large library of free software. I had no trouble installing it (setup detected all my hardware on an IBM Thinkpad A20m), but was very frustrated at first with the interface. The documentation is difficult to read, and this is not for beginners. After a few days of using Linux, I've found that I can do everything I need to do with it, and even run my windows programs on it. However, it took the better part of a day for me to understand how to configure things. The GUI they start you off with is terrible but by changing a few settings it becomes very functional and friendly.

Summary: Disappointing
Comment: After 4 days talking to their support group, it is finally known to me that they do NOT support 32-bit Seriel ATA Hard Drives. So I have wasted 4 evenings and countless phone calls with these guys before they figured that they don't support me, which is a fairly common hardware config now days. So beware!!

Summary: Absolutely wonderful Linux distribution.
Comment: I started using Suse 9.0 Pro as soon as it came out. All I can say is I absolutely love it. I use it at home and work for my desktops.I see other reviews here saying it deleted my hard drive and other various things like it does not support NTFS etc. Well of course it doesn't support NTFS its not Windows and since MS has not released the NTFS specs how does anyone expect someone to decipher a convoluted file system like NTFS without any help? You have many file systems to choose from which are designed so that they don't need to be defragmented.
As for the people saying it deleted my hard drive. Was it Linux that changed your partition table by it's self or did you tell it to do it and didn't realize what you did? If you were going from Linux to Windows would there be a chance of you wiping your Linux partitions?
People that bought Suse Linux and complained that it's not Windows should have downloaded the evaluation version from the Suse website first. Then they would know it wasn't Windows and would not need to buy two operating systems. It's there, it's free, download it first. Where is the Windows demo?
Suse provides a nice Linux distribution with good configuration tools but Linux is not for everyone. (At least not yet.) Linux will do just about anything you want it to but you have to know how to drive it. Windows is easy to drive but won't do nearly as much.

Summary: Nothing but a horror story
Comment: Where can I start, this has to be like Windows with NO functionality. Whoever writes the five star reviews must be paid by the company suse. The operating system is a memory and cpu hog, the mulit-media works about as well as a toothache. Plus, my Windows partition, well it is gone now. This costed me a lot of money just to loose all my data, have a non-working pc and best of all it is useless except for sitting with a screen saver. Do yourself a BIG favor and stay away from SUSE!
