It is simple to set up and makes a decent size snow cone in under 30 seconds!The ice just shoots out of the opening unbelievably quick directly into the cup. We recommend styrofoam cups because these keep the ice from melting quickly. Just open and invert the whole thing to drain/dry it until the next use. We would recommend this product highly and we are glad we found it on Amazon.com. Customer Rating: Summary: Gears Strip Easily Comment: This little appliance worked great at first, then after several uses I started noticing a BAD sound coming from it. Starting and stopping a lot seemed to help. After about the 8th time the kids and I used it, the thing became worthless. We didn't overload with ice, and I even tried using crushed ice from our freezer hoping that would lessen the burden. But it didn't help.
Today we're throwing it away. I really hoped it would lasted longer than that. I would not recommend buying it.

Creates the right "snow" consistency for a perfect ice dessert. Great with flavored syrup or alcholic drink mix. Have been very happy with it.
