Summary: Haven't found a better headset yet
Comment: I have tried about six different headsets, including the Jabra BT200, Motorola H700, and Plantronics Voyager 510 - all considered to be decent models. The Logitech is fairly large and not very attractive, but it's easy to put on quickly, and easy to store - no fumbling with it to get it on. What I really like about it are two things that I have been unable to find in another headset. One is that it has a large, padded speaker that does not go in you ear. Like many users, I can't stand things in my ear. Many headsets sit on your ear, but my experience has been that they are not loud enough, or if they do get loud enough - too distorted. The Logitech is loud and clear without going in my ear. The other feature is the swiveling boom mice. Everyone says it sounds great - especially in noisy environments. On the downside, this unit has some design flaws in the ear hook, and will wear out over time. Logitech replaced it once under warranty for this reason, so I now have two. I am writing this review in February of 2007, so as you might imagine, both units have succumbed to this design flaw, but I was able to resurrect them both by retrofitting them with a tiny screw I bought at Lowe's for ten cents. Batter life is really good (even after 3 years), and Bluetooth range is fantastic. Unfortunately, Logitech stopped selling this model in the U.S. a while ago, so you'll have to find one second hand, or get one from Europe (they still sell them new there for some reason). I may try the Nokia BH-900, as it has many of the Logitech's desirable traits.

Summary: Solid Headset
Comment: Hey dudes!

I have been using the Mobile Pro for around 3 days now, and I'll be keeping it for good

I am also using a Treo 650 with this headset

I have used most Motorola Headsets, Plantronics, some Jabra's, etc ----- for the most part, up to now, my favorite headset is the CARDO SCALA 500 --- so I'll be reviewing the Mobile Pro against that one, head to head

The Cardo Scala 500 is a great headset, as its extremely comfortable, very loud, and pretty clear to the people who are listening to me

With that in mind, here are the PROS and CONS of the Logitech Mobile Pro ---

PROS -

1. Hearing Quality --- people on the other end of the phone think that I'm talking from a landline ---- this is probably due to the great boom mic, and I can tell that people can hear me very very clearly, definitely better than the Cardo Scala 500 in this regard

2. Volume ---- the Logitech MP is pretty loud, but not as loud as the Cardo Scala 500 ---- however, I've used the Logitech MP in my car, and the volume has been fine overall

3. Battery ---- the battery has lasted throughout the entire day - at this point, its at par with the Cardo Scala 500, if not, a bit better

4. Size ----- the headset looks very bulky, but its actually pretty small, once you fold it up - however, most other headsets are a bit smaller

5. Connection and Speed ---- no bluetooth headset has better connection and speed than the Logitech MP --- the headset picks up at the first ring, just like the Cardo Scala ---- however, the Logitech really shines with its stable connection --- I can stand pretty far away from my phone without hearing any static in my speaker --- this is the achilles heal of most headsets, ESPECIALLY the Cardo Scala, that gets static too easily ---- very little static with the Logitech Mobile Pro

CONS -

1. Comfort ---- okay - after wearing this for a few days, I've gotten pretty use to the feel of this headset --- at first, I found it uncomfortable, but now its fine ---- I wouldn't wear it for over an hour ---- my biggest complaint is the fact that I'm usually wearing glasses (whether that be regular glasses or sunglasses) --- the Cardo Scala 500 fit excellently with glasses, whereas the Logitech MP isn't as good, in its fit with glasses ---- yes, you can wear it with glasses and its still comfy, but your glasses will be pressed against the headset's plastic, making the 'sit' of your glasses a little uneven ---- keep this in mind if you talk a lot in your car with sunglasses on

2. BUTTONS --- the multifunction and volume buttons are very small, and kinda annoying to operate, once you're talking ---- the Cardo Scala clearly has the best MultiFunction button out there --- however, after some getting use to, the multifunction button upon the Logitech becomes easy to use

With that in mind ---- if you want a solid headset and aren't too concerned over the comfort issues, then this is the best headset out there --- especially if you want to be heard clearly

If volume is your number one priority, and very little else, then get the Cardo

If you want an all around great product though, then this is the headset for you

HAPPY BUYING!!!!!

------- UPDATE -------

hey dudes --- I've been wearing the headset for over a week now, and I am VERY VERY HAPPY

the connection times are speedy, sound is great, people can hear me, etc etc etc

the comfort isn't bad at all anymore ---- I'm real use to wearing it, and it feels just as comfy as any other headset -- wearing it with glasses is still a little awkward, but even that's gotten better

overall - I'm very happy with the headset and I recommend it

UPDATE 2 ----

I have switched BT headsets and am now using a Jabra JX10 - I have found the Jabra to have a much higher volume, be much more comfy, and have pretty great sound quality overall (outbound and inbound)

the Logitech is a great headset, but I"m going with Jabra

HAPPY BUYING!!

Summary: Great Headset!
Comment: I've had my headset for about 9 months, and it is almost the perfect headset. I use my cell phone as an office phone, and this headset is the best I've heard for sounding like a land line. I've had a number of people express surprise that I'm talking on a cell phone. It even sounds this good in a car and outdoors. I think this is because the mike is very close to the mouth, and the foam padding eliminates wind sounds.

The battery life is very good. I've used it for several hours a day without it losing its charge, and I usually charge it only 2-3 times a week, since I've heard this helps the battery.

It doesn't drop signals, and I rarely have to reconnect it during the day after several hours of non-use.

Volume is also very good, and no static, even working in an office with 3 computers and other equipment.

So what's not to like:

The construction of the headset doesn't lend itself to being carried arounding your pocket, because it's too bulky for that, and it will damage the forceps action, so they don't open when you press the rocker switch. You can still open them, but not conveniently. So I use a different, compact headset for carry around purposes. If that works for you, and you need excellent sound when using a cell phone, then I recommend this one for you.

BTW, I like mine enough that I'm getting another, so I don't have to mess with the ear forceps manually anymore.

Summary: Long-term reliability an issue
Comment: I purchased two of these headsets about one year ago. Mine has since stopped working altogether, but my wife's continues to operate without issue -- and she uses her's much more than I do. Curious.
Anyway, it is a nice headset with absolutely the best charger/case design that I have ever seen, but if you are looking for long-term use, you might want to look elsewhere. Of course, most people don't keep their phones too long these days and they cost much more than this little headset.

Summary: Great headset, but FATAL design flaw
Comment: I have owned 2 of these headsets since May 2005. Sound quality is excellent. Reliability is excellent. Fit on ear is excellent (better than the many others I have tried). Features are excellent. Then why have I owned 2 in the last 6 months?

There is a FATAL design flaw which prevents me from recommending this headset. The very thing that makes this headset so comfortable (the spring loaded earpiece), is the very reason that I will be trying to return my 2nd headset. On both headsets, the earpiece broke in exactly the same spot. The first one lasted about 2 months. The 2nd one lasted about 4 months. It can't be replaced or repaired, which means I now have 2 expensive paperweights. The first time they replaced it for free. I'll try again, but since its been several months, I'm not sure if they will replace again. Regardless, what good is an excellent fitting, excellent sounding headset, if the earpiece breaks. I have tried wearing it with the piece broken off, but it is not possible.

Unless you are VERY gentle with this headset, you probably want to steer clear and go with a different manufacturer and design that is not so fragile.
