Second only to the chef’s knife for versatility, this petite three-inch knife will be the second most used blade in your kitchen. Ideal for trimming, peeling, cleaning, and removing blemishes on fruits and vegetables, its small size and nimble profile excel at any task that prizes delicacy, dexterity, and control. Chicago Cutlery’s Metropolitan line of knives makes an affordable introduction to high-quality kitchen cutlery. Stamped rather than forged for lighter weight and a more reasonable price, the blades are made from high-carbon stainless steel for rust and stain resistance and longer-lasting sharpness. Chicago’s exclusive Taper Grind edge produces impressively precise slices and retains its sharpness well over time; these knives will need to be re-sharpened regularly, but they take an edge beautifully and with regular maintenance can stay out-of-the-box sharp for years. A full tang extends from the tip of the knife to the end of the handle for improved balance and strength. Contoured, ergonomically designed polymer handles feature contemporary styling and are durable and non-porous, so they’re impervious to water and bacteria for increased food safety. Triple brass rivets secure the handle to the blade for extra stability. Chicago Cutlery covers their knives with a lifetime guarantee; they recommend hand-washing and drying for best results. --Mary Park

Customer Rating: Summary: chicage paring knife vs chicago paring knife Comment: Read where one customer liked the walnut handle over the bakelite .... another liked the bakelite over the walnut handle. I ordered one of each. I and my wife (90 and 78 yr old respectively) liked the bakelite handle best. Handle was larger and easier for my wife to use.
I gave the wooden handle set to my daughter and son-in-law. They thought they were about the best knives they have used.
Bottom line: an individual won't know which is best for them until both are tried. Plan to give away the one that is not best for you, and whoever receives your reject will be very happy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Highly-Used Knife Comment: I bought this to match my steak knives. We reach for this knife over and over. It feels good in your hand, it looks good, and it has a nice, small blade. Good knife for the price!
Customer Rating: Summary: Super Sharp Knife Comment: I bought the 3 inch again. I had previously bought the entire set. My husband was using the other as a utility knife and I missed cutting vegetables as quickly and as eaily as I can with this knife.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice size Comment: The small size is just great with peeling and skinning veggies. Overall a nice little knife.
Customer Rating: Summary: Description is wrong. Comment: I specically ordered this knife because it was supposed to have a wooden handle...it doesn't. The handle is bakelite. I wouldnt recommend this knife to anyone. There are better knives available for around the same price.
