Customer Rating: Summary: This is a Great Mouse . . If Your Hands are Average in Size Comment: No doubt about it -- this is a great mouse. I have had no difficulty using it with my laptop on any table, any place. And I love cordless anything - nothing to get tangled up, nothing to pull the mouse away from the point of an image where I'd carefully positioned it. That said, however . . .
My smaller than average hands get tired due to the size of this mouse. Back in the dark ages, I used a large laser mouse because that's all there was. Nowadays, I find that when I have a choice I gravitate to the smaller, easier to control, notebook mouse.
Given the advanced state of minaturization and customization, I'd like to suggest, tah dah, a choice in mouse sizes fitted to your hand. After all, shoes come in a variety of sizes, so why not computer mice as well? But, until the customized mouse comes around, this one will do -- even for small hands.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beware: VX Revolution Too Small for a Desktop Comment: The Logitech VX works with my desktop mac almost as good as it suppose to, its just too small to be comfortable as a desktop mouse (despite what others say). I am used to apple's mighty mouse (which fits perfectly "in the palm of my hand"). The VX is unconformable - not being able to rest your palm on the back of VX means all the work must be done by your fingers alone. The VX also slips out of my hand when I grab it and the main left and right top buttons are too close to my palm. Consequently, my hand is scrunched up when I use it, not naturally extended as it ought to be. For reference, my hand is 7 1/2 inches from the tip of my middle finger to the top of my wrist. That's bigger than most, but not much.
Like everyone else, I like the wheel. Logitech got that right, but Logitech is long overdue for a new mouse product. I don't know if the MX is too big (seemed gigantic in the store), but it definitely has too many bells and whistles (buttons and wheels!). I have read the many, many lines in many forums, and there is a huge market for a regular-sized, sleek desk top mouse that is not built like something out of Star Wars (or a pink 1959 cadillac with fins). A bigger (longer and sleeker) version of the basic VX would do.
Customer Rating: Summary: works well Comment: nice mouse. sometimes have slight (less than half a second) pausing probably due to other wireless devices interfering.
Customer Rating: Summary: Battery Issues Comment: I bought this in January 2007, it worked great as advertised! I've always trusted Logitech products and they have great customer service. The mouse was worth the price I paid for, however, since early this year, it's been disconnecting at random times and the battery is no longer accurate. Now I can't even charge the battery. It has a three year warranty, so I'm covered and I should be getting it fixed or replaced.
Customer Rating: Summary: Too erratic Comment: Its ok for surfing the net. Has a lot of programmable buttons. But i went back to my logitech M310 which has a cord and only three programmable buttons but works great. When working with photoshop or audio and video programs you can't have a squirrely mouse.
