Summary: Not disappointed...small defect
Comment: This iron works great. The end caps with the FHI insignia came off within a week. This does not effect the functioning of the iron, but for $100.00 you'd think nothing would crack or break.
Left my hair with a nice sheen and did not feel damaged. Platform is smooth....Good product.

Summary: Sedu Where Are You!
Comment: I had a Sedu for about 3 years. It fell on the floor and broke apart. After researching flat irons I decided to give the FHI Platform a try. It's just okay. The Sedu got hotter using a lower temperature setting as well as produced a silkier effect on my hair.

Summary: Not as good as my CHI was...
Comment: I had a CHI (no temp dial) for about 3 years. It was great. I took it to Europe and even with a converter, it shorted out. So, my stylist recommended this flat iron - especially because it has the temp control. It's just okay. I am African-American. I have mixed texture, unrelaxed hair. This iron and the CHI produce a nice silky effect on my hair. I just feel like the CHI got the job done quicker.

Comment: I purchased this iron and have used it to create some of the cutest hair styles. Not only did it straighten my hair, but my hair felt softer and silkier than it has with any other flat iron (vs. the CHI). I am so happy that I purchased the FHI platform, and I must say that Amazon's shipping was great!
