When ordering, I'd paid no attention to the word "Extender." It's a clever device completely hidden inside the waist that expands. I'm in good shape, nevertheless as anyone knows we have good and bad body days. These pants are classy looking, not the average khaki pant. And, frankly, everyone bloats when we're so busy we skip meals. These pants accomodate that yet there's nothing dated about them. Remember "Sensabelt"? Bad idea. These are business casual pants that always look great and feel comfortable!
