Summary: Best phone case I have owned across all phones
Comment: This is by far the best designed and built case I have ever owned for a phone. I highly recommend it. It ads very little to the form factor of the iPhone, has held up well and looks good. Most folks at first glance can't tell there is a protector on it. Moreover, it is far superior to silicone cases and flip cases in my opinion.
When I first unpackaged and slid it onto the phone, I was skeptical that it would stay put or last long. After 3-weeks of this thing being thrown in pockets, on tables as I enter meetings, dropped on the ground a few times, etc. It hasn't lost it's look, grip to the phone or touch. Unlike another reviewer's experience, there's not a scratch on the phone. My wife has the same case on her 3G - same deal. They look just as they did when they came out of the box from the AT&T store.
It allows easy access to the entire screen, there's just enough of an edge on the front to protect it on a face-first drop, but doesn't have the obnoxious 'over cover' on the bottom and top of the front like some other cases, and easy access to all buttons (while also being protected from drops) plus you can dock it if you have one.
It is a simple, elegant design that just works.
I personally don't like flip cases - just get in the way. I use it too much to have to keep flipping and holding open. Also, I didn't use the included film. I prefer the stick-on kind (takes a few extra minutes, but you don't have to worry about dust, moving around and scratching the screen, etc.)
I suspect that I will wear this out eventually so have an extra on hand should Griffin decided (for some strange reason) to quit making these.

Summary: A good choice
Comment: After trying the DLO Leather Holster and ending up having to purchase a new iPhone after its complete failure, I was looking for something that offered more protection. While the Elan Form is not the "perfect" case, it has a lot of good points:
1. It is a rigid case and hugs the iPhone quite tightly. At first I was skeptical because it seems flimsy until you get it on the phone.
2. It is slim enough that you can still slip your iPhone into your pocket.
3. It seems to offer quite a bit of protection for the phone.
I did not use the screen protector that came with it, deciding instead to purchase some separately, and I feel this was a good choice. I like the adhesive screen protectors. Frankly, the idea of using the one that came with this phone and having some dust rolling around between it and the screen (thus scratching it) did not appeal to me. Being that this is my second iPhone in less than six months and I am not a Rockefeller, I am not taking any chances this time.
I only wish this came in more fun colors. I am giving it a 4 star rating because of that.

Summary: Excellent case
Comment: I love this case. And I normally hate cases in general... they distract from the otherwise sleek look of Apple's products.
But this case is different because it fits perfectly, and protects everything that needs protecting. I've seen other silicone cases that wobble and move. Not this case. The leather is very nice. It feels very comfortable in your hand, and provides just the right amount of grip, without the "pocket snag" of some of the silicone cases.
This is my first written review for Amazon. The rating before was 3, and I just don't get it. I've been using iPods for years, and never had a case that fit this well, protected this much, or felt this good in my hand.

Summary: Almost Perfect Case
Comment: This is my third and last case for the iPhone 3G. From the moment I put it on my phone I was completely satisfied.
The leather on the case is definitely real, you can tell by feeling it. The case does add a little bulk to the phone, but this is necessary to help absorb shock if the phone is dropped. The leather lining also helps with the shock absorption, and of course does not show any finger prints and provides a good grip alternative to rubber. The ability to remove the bottom third of the case allows for docking, but it also allows easy access to remove the phone from the case if necessary.
As far as the screen protector, I am glad it does not cling because I always managed to screw up the application of those in a slight but annoying way. It does collect a lot of finger prints, but if I recall correctly either the case or the the phone itself came with a microfiber cloth to clean the screen. The protector is thicker than most clings as well, making me feel a little more secure. It can trap some dust underneath, but so can the cling protectors and I feel like it is almost unavoidable. (Although I have had pretty good success using canned air on the protector and phone before application) I have had the protector stick to the screen before, but this is resolved by wiping down both the protector and the screen. These last two problems are the reason I avoided five stars.
I hope in the future griffin will offer replacement screen protectors since I'm sure mine will collect many scratches.
I highly recommend this case. A week into using the case, I fell into a pool and somehow my iPhone managed to survive. Im sure it was the combination of my shorts and the case (I wouldn't recommend trying this since the case leave plenty of openings) but I am very grateful my phone was unharmed. The case was pretty wet when I took it out of my pocket so it had to do something.

Summary: Not Good!
Comment: I purchased this case from a local retailer a couple days after getting my 3G iPhone. Upon putting it into the case, it had NO scratches.
Being that the polycarbonate screen tends to get dust and particles under it once being placed in your pocket, you are forced to clean it on occasion.
A few days later, when I went to clean the screen, and removed the case from the phone, I noticed it had rubbed the Gloss Coating from the black surface of the phone. This is a dramatic design flaw that has ruined my phone from the EXACT problem I wanted to prevent! Damage to the surface! NOT GOOD!
I will attempt to upload some photos to show what it has done.
